Teaching
The teaching ministries at Christ Church have had many different emphases and many different names over the years. Depending on the topic, season of the year, and the particular needs of our local church, Christ Church is always seeking to deepen our love and knowledge of God.
A key way we've done this is through our Foundations Course, which at its core is a discipleship course in mere Christianity. This course is offered every Fall (and nearly every Spring as well). Please see below for more details and to fill out an interest form in our next Foundations Course.
The Foundations Course at Christ Church is our foundational “first things” course. This 13-week series (or sometimes 7-week) is rooted in classical models for Christian disciple-making. The objective of the Foundations Course is to increase our love and desire for God and our love for others. Among the topics covered by this course are:
- The Narrative of Salvation History
- The Foundation of Christian Doctrine
- The Sacrament of Holy Communion
- The Life of Prayer
- The Sacrament of Holy Baptism
- Christian living
- The Anglican Way
Each participant will be assigned a sponsor. Sponsors meet at least once a week outside of class with their candidate for prayer, reflections, and to work on assignments.
