Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Christ Church

The Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of our souls, has appointed under-shepherds to care for his flock in the Body of Christ. (1 Peter 5:1-4) At the same time, every member of the Body is called to help play a role in bearing the burdens of fellow Christians. (Galatians 6:1-10) In our parish community, we see pastoral care needs met locally within the gatherings of Life Groups, through the healing ministry of the Prayer Team, and with the godly counsel, direction and absolution offered by the parish Priests.

Where do I receive care at Christ Church, and where can I know and be known by others?

Life Groups are the smallest units of pastoral care at Christ Church; they provide routine and practical care to parishioners, including baby showers, meal trains, hospital visits, financial help, and various other works of mercy. The Order of St. Christopher works as a support system bringing additional service, mercy, and care to our Life Groups.

Those not already in a Life Group are encouraged to join or help form one so that they are not disconnected from the life of the church and the ministry of the saints. Click HERE to learn more about our Life Groups.

Where do I receive care if I have not yet joined a Life Group?

If you are not yet part of a Life Group and in need of immediate care now (baby showers, meal trains, hospital and home visits, financial help, and various other works of mercy), please fill out the appropriate form HERE to connect you with the Order of St. Christopher.

I would like to receive direct Pastoral Care from a priest.

Every person’s life experience and walk with Christ comes with highs and lows, “peaks” and “valleys.” The trials of life can be confusing, painful, or leave one with a troubled conscience. When these times inevitably come, the Church offers “godly counsel, direction, and absolution” to those in need of pastoral care.

Please let us know HERE if you would like to speak to a priest for Pastoral Counsel or Private Confession.

I would like prayer for physical or inner healing.

Christ Church’s Healing Prayer team is so happy to pray for you and your loved ones in need of prayer support. A typical healing prayer session will include 2-3 prayer ministers and last between 45-60 minutes. In order to get started, please take a minute to complete the form HERE.
